If you are an Office 365 hosted customer and needs to revert your settings to not use Paubox anymore, please follow the instructions below to revert your settings back to what they were prior to Paubox.
Part I: Setting up Inbound Encryption for Office 365
If your organization’s domain name is example.com, Microsoft Office 365 asks you to setup your MX record like the one seen below. To make this change you need to log into your DNS host and edit the existing Paubox MX record (mx1.paubox.com) back to your Office 365 MX record.
MX Record for Office 365: 10 example-com.mail.protection.outlook.com.
MX record for Paubox: mx1.paubox.com
Second, change your SPF record so that it’s set to the standard SPF Office 365 record:
v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com -all
*If you have ancillary email services, double check to make sure that they are included in the SPF record as well.*
Part II: Removing Outbound Encryption for Office 365
You will need to use the Office 365 Exchange admin center to remove the outbound gateway for Paubox. Here’s how you do it:
- Go to https://outlook.office.com/ecp to access the Exchange admin center. If you haven’t logged in already, you’ll need to do that first in order to be granted access.
- On the left menu, mail flow and then connectors.
- Find the Paubox connector and Delete it.
- Click Save if necessary.
