Overview
One of the best parts about Paubox is our simple implementation! For such a sophisticated solution that eliminates portals, passwords, and plugins you cannot ask for a simpler "Turn On" process.
With that being said, the only spot we know can be tricky is updating your DNS records in your Domain Host's Control Panel. The small nuances of each provider can make navigating DNS editor's a little unclear.
Given this reality our Customer Success Team has started aggregating an example for each Domain Host. Though this list not complete by any means, it covers the majority of the main providers.
Why
Paubox's Outbound Encryption requires a TXT record to be updated or created if it doesn't exist. This record ensures your emails are accepted by the intended recipient. Without it, your outbound emails can bounce and/or be blocked by some security protocols.
What
The record we require is a Text (TXT) record, specifically a Sender Policy Framework (SPF). The TXT SPF record specifies a list of authorized host names/IP addresses that mail can originate from for a given domain name. In other words, its kind of like a caller id for your emails. It ensures that a recipient's email can verify that your email came from the you and not somewhere else.
How
Below is our current list of most common Domain Hosts customers have had to create TXT SPF records in. To access the instructional guide click on the link for your Domain Host.
TIP
It is really important to make sure you update or create the record exactly as it is written. Our advice is always to copy and paste the record straight from our documentation. When you do so, please be sure to copy and paste the record that is associated with your Mail Exchange. In other words, if you are GSuite then use the MX and TXT SPF record we have for GSuite. If your using Office 365 and/or Paubox Hosted then use the exact record we share for those ones.
