What is ExecProtect?
ExecProtect is Paubox product that protects you from display name spoofing — making sure that emails that say they're from your CEO are actually from your CEO.
Where can I find it?
In the Paubox Admin Panel, it's located in the Inbound Security section.
How it works
First, enter the name of an executive you'd like to protect. Make sure to add any name variations or nicknames under the alternate name section (Smith goes by Smitty, Patricia goes by Trish, etc.).
Finally, add every single email address that is allowed to send as the listed name. It's tempting to use just a work email, but lots of folks use personal emails to send in last minute expense reports or questions... so make sure you list personal emails regularly used as well.
Ok, it's set up. Now what?
Now, ExecProtect goes to work. It scans every inbound email display name for any of the protected names or name variations. If our system finds a match to any of the protected names (or the listed variants), then ExecProtect compares the sending email to the Permitted Sending Addresses. If the email is permitted to send, then ExecProtect allows the email in. If the email address isn't listed as Permitted (even if there are other whitelist rules in place), then ExecProtect quarantines the email and sends an alert to the ExecProtect Admin.
