What is Geofencing?

Geofencing for Inbound Security offers a way of blocking incoming mail based on country of origin or relay.  Geofencing is ready and available to customers who have Paubox Email Suite Plus or Premium.

We understand that not every customer can use this feature while conducting business abroad. But since we released it, it has proven to be very effective and accurate in reducing unwanted emails. We will be adding more countries in the future. 

 

How Geofencing works

 How to best use this feature depends on your goal! 

• If you are looking to reduce phishing attacks, our latest research shows that these 6 countries generate the most phishing attacks:
  Lithuania, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine, Colombia, Iran
• If you are looking to reduce spam, our latest research shows that these 15 countries are generating the most spam:
  China, Russia, Turkey, Germany, India, Netherlands, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Colombia, Spain, Hong Kong, Argentina

How to set up Geofencing

Show blocked countries:

1. Under Inbound Security, click on Geofencing.
2. Click on the button "Show blocked countries".
3. View a list of countries currently blocked.

Block a country:

1. Under Inbound Security, click on Geofencing.
2. Search a country name in the search bar.
3. Click the results to add the country to Geofencing.

Block all countries:

1. Under Inbound Security, click on Geofencing.
2. Click on the button "Blacklist all countries".
3. This will block all available countries.
