GoDaddy: Update domain host settings

When you set up Paubox, you'll need to update your domain host settings to ensure your emails are properly delivered.

A TXT/ SPF record is a DNS record used for email authentication. It ensures that only approved senders can deliver emails on behalf of your domain. It also helps prevent spoofing. Adding Paubox to the TXT/ SPF record will give Paubox permission to send on your behalf.

Instructions to update GoDaddy settings

  1. Navigate to https://account.godaddy.com/products
  2. Click on My Account, then select Domains
  3. Click on the domain you’re connecting to Paubox
  4. Select the DNS tab in the top menu
  5. Under DNS Records, check if you have an existing record that is Type: TXT. If you already have a TXT record, follow the instructions to update that record. If you do not have a TXT record, follow the instructions to create a new record.

Update an existing TXT record

  1. In your DNS Records, locate the existing TXT record with text that begins with v=spf1 (if you don't have an existing TXT record with v=spf1, follow the instructions below to create a new record)
  2. Click the Edit (pencil) button to edit the existing TXT record
  3. In the Text field, add the following text to the existing text, right before ~all

    include:_spf.paubox.com

  4. Click Save

Warning! Do not delete any existing text in the record, only add to the record.
