Inactive senders in Outbound Security

The Inactive Senders page helps you manage and monitor encrypted email senders who have not sent any outbound emails for an extended period. By automatically tracking inactive senders, Paubox ensures accurate billing and provides transparency into your organization’s email activity. 

 

How it works

  • If a sender does not send any email for 45 days (including automated responses), they are marked as inactive and moved to the Inactive Senders tab.

  • If that sender sends an email again, they are automatically moved back to the Encrypted Senders tab.

  • Senders are never removed from encryption, so there is no risk of a coverage lapse if they become active again.

  • An automated process moves senders between tabs. Admin cannot manually move senders to or from the Inactive Senders tab.

 

Billing information

You are only billed for active encrypted senders at the time of your renewal. This means that senders listed as inactive do not count toward your bill, which can help ensure accurate billing. Note: Encrypted senders are counted at the time of renewal, which means your bill does not change dynamically throughout the year if users become inactive.
