Inbound Security: ExecProtect+
ExecProtect+ is the evolution of ExecProtect, our advanced anti-spoofing feature designed to protect executives and employees from email impersonation attacks. ExecProtect+ automates the process by detecting internal senders and automatically adding them as protected names.
ExecProtect+ reduces the administrative load and enhances your email security by eliminating the need for manual setup while providing robust email impersonation protection. ExecProtect & ExecProtect+ is available with Paubox Email Suite Plus and Premium.
How ExecProtect+ works
ExecProtect+ automatically identifies internal senders based on your email traffic and adds their email addresses to the protected senders list. This ensures that any unauthorized attempts to impersonate an executive or employee (e.g. a fake CEO email requesting an invoice payment) are blocked before they reach your organization.
Protected names and addresses will be added based on their display name (e.g. first and last name) and sending email address.
How to enable ExecProtect+
- Log in to your Paubox dashboard
- Navigate to Inbound Security > Settings
- Toggle the ExecProtect+ feature to ON
Best practices for using ExecProtect+
- Add employees' personal email addresses (if applicable): If employees occasionally use their personal email accounts for business communication, consider manually adding those addresses to the protected list.
- Protect name variations: Add variations of names or nicknames (ex. Rob, Bob, Robby, for Robert) to protect.
- Review automated messages from internal systems: Some transactional systems, such as EHRs, CRMs, document signing platforms, etc. may send emails on behalf of employees. Ensure that these sender addresses are added as approved email addresses.
