Paubox Forms (create your own form)

Create a form using PDF import

Import from PDF allows you to convert existing fillable PDF documents into web-ready Paubox forms. The feature automatically recognizes common form fields—such as dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and phone numbers—saving time during form setup.

How to import a PDF form

  1. Log in to your Paubox dashboard
  2. Navigate to Paubox Forms
  3. Click Import from PDF
  4. Select and upload your fillable PDF file
  5. Review the auto-detected fields on the review screen and adjust field labels, types, options, or requirement settings as needed
  6. Click Create Form at the bottom right of the review screen

NOTE: This feature currently only recognizes PDF forms with fillable fields or AcroForms. Standard, non-fillable PDFs or scanned documents cannot be automatically converted.

Field detection and form editing

During import, Paubox automatically analyzes your PDF and maps recognized input areas to standard form fields.

On the review screen, you can customize each detected field before creating the form:

  • Label: Edit the field display name
  • Type: Change the input style (e.g., Input Field, Text Area, Dropdown, Multiple Choice, Single Choice, File Upload, or Signature)
  • Required: Toggle the switch to make a field mandatory or optional
  • Options: Apply formatting rules such as Date, Phone Number, SSN, or ZIP Code
  • Delete: Click the trash bin icon to remove an unnecessary field from the import
  • Undo: Click Undo to restore a field if you accidentally delete it

Once you click Create Form, you will enter the main form editor. In the editor, you can drag and drop new elements onto your form, rearrange existing imported fields, or adjust design elements before publishing.
