Overview
What you’ll need to get started:
To get started, you will need access to your domain hosting account in order to update your DNS records. If you're not the one who handles this for your organization, pass the information below to the person on your team who manages your domain host (this might be your IT team or web developer/designer).
What is DKIM?
DKIM is a security check that makes sure email messages aren't changing between when the email is sent and when the recipient receives them. Emails are less likely to be labeled as spam when they pass DKIM checks.
Enabling DKIM authentication is not required, but is recommended. Paubox supports DKIM authentication for optimal email delivery.
Set up DKIM
- Log in to your Paubox dashboard (https://www.paubox.com/users/sign_in)
- At the bottom of the left-hand navigation, click on your profile and click on Account settings
- Click on DKIM Settings
- Select your domain in the dropdown menu and click Generate DKIM Key
- Login to your domain host and add a new DNS record using the DKiM Key values generated on your Paubox dashboard (the values in your dashboard are unique to you and your domain)
- Toggle "DKIM Enabled" to Yes (make sure Step 5 is completed before toggling to Yes)
Adding a DNS record
- All domain hosts are set up differently
- After logging into your domain hosting provider, locate your DNS records (the most common locations for DNS records are: Control Panel, DNS Zone Editor, or Manage DNS / Manage DNS Settings)
- Once you've located the DNS records, there should be a button to "Add" or "Add Record"
