We know you’re excited to get your HIPAA compliant email set up on your devices and computers. Using these guides, it should take you about 5 minutes of setup for Outlook 2016 (Windows OS).
Set up Paubox Mail on Outlook 2016
- Open Microsoft Outlook 2016. The icon looks like the one below.
- Select File then choose Add Account
- On the next screen, enter:
- Your Name: Your first and last name
- E-mail Address: Your Paubox email address
- Password: Your Paubox email password
- Then select Manual Setup or Additional Server Types. Then click Next.
- On the next screen select POP or IMAP. Then click Next.
- On the following screen, fill out the following information
- Your Name: Your Name
- Email Address: Your Paubox email account address
- Account Type: POP3 or IMAP
- Incoming mail server: m.paubox.com
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): m.paubox.com
- User Name: Your full Paubox email address
- Password: Your Paubox email password
- Then click on More Settings button and select the Outgoing Server tab
- My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication should be checked
- Use same settings as my incoming mail server should be enabled
- Then click on the Advanced tab to configure your Port settings.
- If you are using IMAP:
- Next to Incoming server (IMAP), type 993 and make sure This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) is checked. (Note: in rare instances, 143 may work better here.)
- Next to Outgoing Server (SMTP), type 587 and make sure the Use the following type of encrypted connection: drop-down box is set to STARTTLS.
- If you are using POP3:
- Next to Incoming server (POP), type 995 and make sure This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) is checked.
- Next to Outgoing Server (SMTP), type 587 and make sure the Use the following type of encrypted connection: drop-down box is set to STARTTLS.
- If you are using IMAP:
- Then click OK.
- Click Next.
- Outlook 2016 will test your settings. When it’s done, click Close.
- Click Finish.
